How do I register to become a Virtual Braathens pilot?

Click on any of the buttons throughout our website like "Become a crew member", "Join our crew", or "Press to fly", or simply use the JOIN link at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can directly access our registration page by clicking here. Our registration process is as smooth and easy as our flights!

How do I access liveries, sounds etc?

Accepted Answer

To get started, create a profile on vAMSYS. Next, return to vbraathens.com and apply for membership. Provide your vAMSYS Pilot ID and the email address associated with your vAMSYS account in the application form.
Once submitted, we'll verify your vAMSYS account and process your application. After approval, log in to your member page on vbraathens.com to access all the information you need.

Remember to download Pegasus ACARS Client under "Resources" on vAmsys.  You will need this to track your flights.

Do I have to file a certain number of PIREPs each month?

We know the life of a virtual airline pilot! Since we do we don’t have an activity requirement in place. You have the freedom to fly whenever you like.

Question 4

Which simulators are supported?

Accepted Answer

Any simulator that supports FSUIPC.   
For example: MSFS2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

However, our development team is only focusing on MSFS2020, therefore we only make liveries and such for that platform.

But you're more then welcome to fly on any of the others with us.

Question 6

Do I have to fly on an online network?

Accepted Answer

No, there is no restriction to perform your flight online. However, you will get more points for your flight if you perform your flight using the following networks:

VATSIM
IVAO
PilotEdge
FSCloud
POSCON
or any other network

You will also score additional 30 points for flying more than 80% of a flight connected to a network.

Question 7

Do you have any age requirement?

Accepted Answer

No, we don't.

But some online network do; for example VATSIM.net is open for membership to all individuals who have reached the age of thirteen (13) years old or older.

Can I fly any airframe or livery?

McDonnell Douglas MD-82
ATR 42/72-600

All PIREPS filled with an airframe not listed above will be automatically rejected.

You can find our livery list on the members page.

We are expanding our fleet as we go along, so this list will change.

Our liveries are currently only developed for MSFS2020.

On other platforms with liveries available these will be accepted:

734: LN-BRE, LN-BUB, LN-BUF, LN-BRA, LN-BRB and LN-BRI
735: LN-BUE,  LN-BRC. LN-BRD, LN-BRF, LN-BRG, LN-BRH and LN-BUA
